DVD burner without installing?

Question

Is there any DVD burner that I wouldn't have physically take apart my computer to work? maybe one that you just hook up to the back?
If not, what kind of a DVD burner should I be looking for? I only need something for a quick little project, until I get a computer with a DVD burner.
Any advice/information/suggestions are welcomed.

Yes, there are plenty of DVD burners that are external. Just do a web search for "external DVD Burner". What you will probably want is something that's USB 2.0 unless of course you have FireWire ports.

yep ther are fire wire and USB supported stand alone DVD burners that uses the power of the computer to operate them but they are not to cheep. You can get them at staples office supply or any computer store.
