So I'm building a friends of mine a computer, I just wanted to know if the no display issue can be because I haven't reset the cmos settings after relieving it from a person on eBay.Maybe cmos is "confused" because of all new hardware?

The CMOS pin thing is ok, but most of them you move the jumper on the pins, then power it on. It will give a message CMOS Cleared or such. Then you power it off, then put the jumper back and power it back on normally. When building start simple. If you have a video card pull it out and try the display off of the motherboard. And here's one. Do you have more than one VGA/DVI/HDMI port on the back of this thing, including extra cards? Say you have a card DVI port, and Motherboard DVI port. Make sure you are using the right port? If it is beeping more than once it is an error. 3 beeps is memory chips, 8 beeps is video, one long low nasty beep means CPU or something way wrong. Good luck with it. 15 years ago I'd already built 3,000 computers. I've done EVERYTHING wrong, so I know how to fix them..:)

Do you get the CMOS display up?

If yes, then the reason you may have a blank screen after that is because the system is not booting up from the hard drive because the hard drive settings are incorrect. Some cmos settings i've seen in the past will automatically determine the hard drive for you.

Theres a chance you need to reset it. Just take out the CMOS battery for a minute and it will reset the BIOS.

Do you see anything on the screen?
