hey there,
i have a Kingston Data Traveler 1Gb that i want to use on windows98 PC's.
So i went to their website, and downloaded the DTI.exe file, which should be the correct driver.
and it installs as such, without problems : it creates folders and files, updates the database, asks for rebooting.
But then, when i plug in the stick --> windows installer starts. pointing it to the right folders get the message could not find driver.
Inspecting the folder shows 2 files installed :
dokhdc.inf
dokusb.inf
but both are listed as 0 bytes. i looked into different files like that, but most were for Sony flash sticks
Contaxct with Kingston gives "no windows 98 support"

Here my question : does anybody have the correct driver, or files ?

Try one of these:

http://toastytech.com/files/cruzerwin95.html (Good for Windows 98 FE and Windows 95).

http://www.technical-assistance.co.uk/kb/usbmsd98.php (FE and SE)

Kingston are correct. Using the Kingston Data Traveler with Microsoft Windows 98 is not supported.

Probably the dokhdc.inf and dokusb.inf are not extracted properly. That's why they are 0 bytes. Download the exe file again and extract the files.

Uninstall the previous versions.

Plug in the stick, point out to the driver you have downloaded during hardware detecting and installation.

If that is the correct driver, your software should be installed.
