According to the USB specification, the theoretical limit is 127 devices (actually 128, but the "root" USB port on your computer counts as 1). Each hub in the tree counts as a device, too.
In practice, you probably won't get anywhere near that before you run up against the limit for the amount of power that the USB port can supply to the devices.

hi there
in theory no... however its been well documented that 127 devices can be daisy chained but the problem here is usb devices still require power... no alot but when you have 127 of the blighters its going to put a strain on any system..
however a 7 port hub will experience no problems on even the most basic pc,s so it looks like your usb hubs problem is a fault with either one of the ports or all of them
have you tried it using another pc or a laptop.. this will then show you if the problems with the hub or your pc... and if so you will need to return the hub to the manufactuer
i allways use my rear(io sheild ) usb ports for any hubs... these tend to be more reliable than front based usb ports.... so try this before returning the hub
hope this helps, any problems let me know
good luck

If you are using a hub where the peripherals are powered from the computer
ie a web cam etc, then you can only use 4 because a USB had a limited power
supply. If you want more then use a mains powered hub.
They supply the power to the peripherals and not the USB.
Before the days of computers now coming out with at least 4 or 6 USB slots,
back in the bad old days computers only had 1 or even 2 if you were lucky!
I solved that problem by getting 2 x 4 USB powered hubs. In effect giving me
8 USB slots.

u need 2 get a hub with a separate power supply ( has a outlet plug to plug into the wall.) the port on the computer wont support that many ports on the 1 port on ur comp or try plugging the second hub into another usb port on the computer.
