I have a HP Pavilioon dv6 notebook pc and i've had for 1 year now. There has been no problem with anything until this morning when I found my internal mic wasn't working, i've tried restarting my computer and checking for updates and everything is up to date. i've already tried searching for a solution on google, but none of them have been working. I checked my sound and everything and it still wouldn't work. my webcam (built in) is working, and its just my microphone. my microphone is built in also. any help?

Well!

Double click on the volume control on the task bar. then it will show the volume control dialog box. and then click on the "Option" menu. and then after it click on the "Properties" option in the list. then it will show the dialog box named "Properties" click the Radio button named "Recording" from it. then it will show list of devices related to "Recording" at the bottom. check the "Microphone" from it.

And then after close the dialog box and Volume control will show some different shape.

in this you can see the "Microphone" option. put its volume UP. and don't mute it.

After it close the volume control dialog box and enjoy recording if your microphone is not out of order.

Thanks...

check the settings on program trying to use if program uses mic you can change mic and know ur microphone my searching on start menu. maybe ur mic is out of warranty or speakers on mute of mic is mute. maybe you need to be louder. use correct mic. use another program and test it.
