I have always put my info on discs for back up, but sometimes I'll put a disc in and my info will be gone. So i have been wondering if i should change my method of saving files to USB flash drives. Are these more reliable than discs? I know I can fit more info on them than I can with discs, so it looks very tempting.

From personal experience I would say yes.

I have a flash disk that has been dropped, thrown about the place, been through the washing machine twice and still works as well as the day I bought it (several years ago). It's in daily use too.

CD's & DVD's are subject to scratches and light damage over time. It's also possible they won't work in other CD/DVD ROM drives (although this is very rare).

They are more reliable but be careful in removing them. Be sure to click on the "safely remove hardware" icon in your system tray after you have completed the transfer or you will damage the flash drive and corrupt the data.

Flash memory is more reliable than disks. CD's are prone to scratching. The only prob. with flash drives is that they are easy to leave behind.
