Question:
What RAM to target for gaming?

Getting 8 gigs since prices are dropping but I'm not sure if it's better to target a lower latency or higher clock speeds when it comes to gaming. Researched and found one source that said "Lower Latency" is better but would also like to hear others opinion. And perhaps a recommendation for RAM (8Gb). Here's what I'm currently targeting for RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Redline 8GB

Further info on my system if it may assist your decision

AeroCool V12XT Controller Panel
ASUS ARES Radeon HD 5870 4 GB
1200-1500 Power Supply
Rosewill Card Reader
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 8GB
ASUS Rampage III Extreme
Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition Processor
Pioneer Black Blur-Ray Burner x2
Lian Li PC-P80 Tower
SSD: Crucial or OCZ Z-drive

Thanks in advance you guys.

Lower latency.

You likely won't notice the speed difference when loading games but you will notice memory lag when it happens.

I suggest you the KINGSTON KHX1333C7D3K4/8GX 8GB (4X2GB) PC3-10600 HYPERX GENESIS XMP

4 RAM cards

1333MHz DDR3

CL7

It's the best I've ever used and still use. With the 8GB you will never run out RAM. I got this RAM and GPU and play games at full high and never past the 55% useage of RAM with the game running and playing music in the backgroun.

PS. The Asus Ares you got woth it's weight in gold for the game performace it will offer you :) nice choice mate :) But unless you are gona use x2 for Cross fire the 1200W-1500W is waaayyy toooo much. An 850W will be fine.
