If you're looking for playing computer games, buy any motherboard of either Asus, Gigabyte or MSI brand - with an nvidia nforce 2 chipset and an AGP slot. If you're looking for something cheap, buy a motherboard with either a VIA or an SIS chipset having an agp slot.

Purchasing a whole new motherboard just to run your agp card probably isn't the greatest move if you are only running a 5500. It's not really top line and if you have an alright pci you're probably not going to benefit much more from the change.

The cheapest motherboard I can suggest for you (that is still in production) would be the Asus P4P800-vm

Despite its price it is still a feature rich motherboard which can accomodate various components in development today.
