How to find out that a pen drive was connected to PC. Where is the entry made (if registry or anywhere else) if i have connected a usb / pen drive (mass storage device) to a computer. If so how can the same be removed so that it cannot be figured out later if a mass storage device via usb post was connected.

One of the neatest things about USB drives is that they are completely portable. The computer recognises that the drive is plugged in, but retains no record of the drive when it is removed.

There should be a gray icon with a green arrow beside your system clock if you're using Windows. Just right click it and click Safely Remove Hardware. All external storage devices attached should appear.

Or just open My Computer.

click initiate > run > compmgmt.msc and visit 'Disk administration', if the device is there then it has suffered from a foul examine / write and could must be formatted. XP may even grant it as a tenet. be conscious that formatting will thoroughly wipe out although is on that device, maximum of beneficial you're finding out on the splendid one.

It should be in the My Computer, as a removable disk/drive
