ok i have this device that plugs in to the keybord slot now in order for this device to turn on i need to have the keybord pluged in to the other end of the device so it gose from the computer to the device to the keybord i would like to know if there is a think that makes it look like there is a keybord there so i do not have to have a keybord at the end of the device. o ya the decvice is a scaner for things like barcoads and i am taking it out to clients to deminstrat but i do not want to take a keybord with me all the time

yes they do and it is called a pigtail (I think) and you can pick them up at Radio Shack or Office Max or Office Depot or some place like that. a similiar item is used for a wireless mouse and keyboard

get an old non-useful keyboard cut the connector wire and just plug-in the connector to the device and see if it works. or else check the website of the device manufacturer and see for any technical assistance

what connection is the keyboard? if it is usb try putting another usb device in like a memory stick

just try it without the keyboard plugged into the device and see if it works without it.
