I have LG DVD-RAM GSA-H55N. It worked fine for few months after purchasing it. After that it refused to read DVD. But it reads CD and CD-RW. I can burn CD and CD-RW. The only problem is it does not read DVD.When i put the dvd on the drive it tries to read (LED blinks)the dvd but after some seconds, LED stops blinking. If i open cd drive on my computer it is empty.

I tried to uninstall cd driver in device manager.
I tried to reinstall XP.
I tried different types of DVD.
Nothing works.
Please help me.........

The Dvd lens is defective. Replacing will solve the problem. Because Cd and Dvd have different lazer lenses to read.

wait, are you saying that you put a blank dvd in, and after it fails to read, when you open the drive, the dvd is gone?

hahahaha that's awesome.

completely bad, but awesome.

the drive needs to go into the shop to be replaced. all those dvd's are getting wedged up into the top of the drive and very soon your entire drive will end up breaking because of it. but yea, get it into the shop quickly.

definite, it reads all optical discs different than Blu-ray and HD-DVD. the learning on supported discs is in the handbook, on the outdoors of the field that's available in, and on the producer's web site (in case you neglected it).
