When I go to play the sims 3 this message comes up:

unable to start game
Device 0 can not run this title.
Your video card does not appear to support at least Shader Model 2. Please upgrade your card.

How do I upgrade it? And what do I upgrade it to?

Well it could be 2 things

1. Update your driver for your video card

Press and hold window key and pause|break

Go to device manager

Find in the list "display adapters"

If it says Nvidia Geforce..... then click on this link http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Then click Graphics Drivers and it will automatically find a suitable driver

If it says Radeon... Click this link http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx and follow the instructions

2. If that doesnt work then you will need to upgrade your actuall video card.. there is not one set graphics card there are thousands so you need one that has a min. of 128mb and with support for pixel shader 2

Go to your video cards website and there should be a driver section. Go on it and select your video card model and download the latest drivers

By the CD drivers for your PC, there are drivers for everything there. use it and upgrade the driver, install it.

if you con't have the CD then find your driver online, download and install.

clear? if not write me back
