A virus on your computer could mess up anything. Also, it could be a manufacturer issue when they made that specific computer. I am not sure about drives...

I've had a wireless mouse (several actually) for years. Occaisionally starts acting weird. So, I change the batteries. Make sure the batteries are new.

The other thing I've noticed, is the spot where my index finger hits on the mouse, it's like it's hitting a bad spot. You can try moving your finger around to different spots to see if it makes any difference. It could be that you're not clicking it long enough. If you used to have a wired mouse and now using the wireless, instead of just a tap, try doing a slightly more pronounced click.

And Last. Quite possible that you are near the end of the "range"of your wireless mouse, and it may not be getting a strong signal from the mouse. Obviously, if you are too far away, it won't work at all. That little logitech button that you insert into a USB port, move it closer to where the mouse is. Try not to hide it, keep it up front so the range will be better.

If it works on one computer the mouse is OK. Go into your Mouse settings and check them. You should have options to set the double click speed, the type of pointer, and such. There should also be a test thing in the mouse settings that you can click to see if you like the speed and so forth that you set.
