basically i need to transfer data from one ps3 to another and my ps3 got ylod so im gonna do the temporary ylod fix then put data on the usb drive and then put it on my new ps3 ill be getting. i need to know how to format a usb drive to FAT32 and an explanation of how the process would work oon transferring the data would be highly appreciated thank you for any contributions u make. one more thing what size should i get for the usb drive i have a few ps2 games and about 9-10 ps3 games i think it may be safe to get atleast a 32 gb but im not sure.

USB drive? do you mean flash drive or a hdd? I assume you mean a hdd if so, first check if it isn't already a fat32 system file format. if it's an ntfs, there are applications you can download online (open source software). Look it up on google.

insert your USB drive into the USB port, right click, scroll down to format, and choose FAT32. Most USB Drives are already FAT32.

Plug it in to any windows pc and right click it under "my computer"



select format (warning this will erase all your data)



then select the fat32 option

certain you could format a flashchronic to NTFS. NTFS is the perfect for archives integrity, yet NTFS truthfully works on domicile windows machines. FAT32 is the most nicely suited and could artwork almost any OS. you shouldn't hassle with elementary fat (also nicely-called FAT16)
