media center for external hard drive ?

hi guys
ive been looking for a program/application that can show a gui when you connect it to a plasma tv... so basically as soon as i connect the external hard drive to the usb port on the plasma tv a user interface will appear( similar to windows media center ) were i can navigate and play movies or music
is there any such program.... it will have to autorun as soon as the drive is connected... then the user interface will be displayed
i reckon there is a peice of software like this however i havent been able to find it.... can anyone help ?

The XBOX 360 functions a little like what you are describing, but the difficulty is putting an operable program on a hard drive only. There are many small media center PC's around that would suit your needs very well, and could definitely be better for what you are looking for.
