My hard drive is only 160GB and I store lots of songs on ITunes I thought about adding an internal hard drive. But As I need an external anyway I was just wondering I'd you can use an external hard drive as you would an internal secondary Hard drive.

Yes it's possible. Just move the iTunes folder to an external hard drive and adjust the path in the iTunes advanced settings. Otherwise you can use a software, to move and link the iTunes library folder automatically. http://www.wikihow.com/Transfer-iTunes-Library-to-a-New-Computer-with-CopyTrans-TuneSwift

you don't need to move itunes just set the music library to the eternal hard drive.
