is the "NVIDIA Geforce 6150SE nForce 430" a bad video card?

Question

My computer has a NVIDIA Geforce 6150SE nForce 430 (512 mbs) video card and 4gbs of RAM.
An AMD Anthlon X2 (2.70 GHz) processor.
I tried running a couple of recent games, since I was told they would work fine with my computer (never tried before) and while an older game like Resident Evil 4 worked sort of good.

Newer games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Need for Speed Shift and Resident Evil 5 didn't. (They run slow, but they do run.)

Was I lied to? is this video card actually awful? should I get a new one?

Well, it kind of depends on when you got the computer...

But, for all intents and purposes, no that is not a graphics card, and yes it sucks.

It is called integrated graphics, and that allows you to do basic office tasks and play flash games, nothing too big.

So, yes, you need a graphics card. I recommend you have a look at the ATi Radeon HD4670, the ATi Radeon HD4850, the NVidia GeForce 9600GT or the NVidia GeForce 9800GT.

That card is terribly

slow to play any modern games.yes,

you need a good video card to play them good.actually

6150se is IGP and not

the full gpu.

if you need very minimum then get

something like hd 4650 or gt 220.best

buy can be hd 4670 for this range.

if you need midrange

then get hd 4850 or

gts 250 but all this

strong cards will require you to change

your psu and they may bottleneck your

system.

getting a card depends on which resolution and settings you want to

play the game.hd 4670 can be good option for medium

resolutions.

actually guys i run that integrated card on my amd dual core athlon and i relize that this is a old post but i have it and i run most games off of it like minecraft "heavily modded btw " also all you need to do for that is update the drivers although it has its limitations it should work fine with most games such as gta V or cod so yeah overall its an alright igc
