Why is my system freezing up?

I recently installed a 2-port USB 2.0 card and a 3-port FireWire card. The Device Manager sees the cards with no conflicts. I have a digital camera works fine when connected to the USB 1.1 but not USB 2.0. When it fails, the system freezes up and the only way to free it up is to reboot. I also have a video camera that works fine when connected to a Pinnacle MovieBox which is then fed to the USB 2.0. However, when I connect the video camera directly to the FireWire card, the system freezes up and the only way to free it is to reboot.

This is a question that has been asked since the invention of computers. From the sound of it i think your USB 2.0 is messed up which you probably figured out already. Check your drivers and call a technician. I hope that helped.

Remove the card, then reinstall and make sure that it is completely seated, snaps in. Also, possibility the card is defective. Do you properly eject the device that is plugged into the port?
