I haven't tried it, but there is an option in

Control Panel

Accessibility

Mouse tab

click in the box to use the numeric keypad to control the pointer.

Go to Control Panel > Accessibility Wizard. It goes through a lot of steps but you can ignore everything except checking the box that says "I have trouble using a mouse or keyboard" and continue to set up the ability to move the cursor using your keypad.

As an IT specialist, i think it's more of a hassle so just get a mouse. But if you insist, you can use the tab function on the keyboard to "highlight" the source you want to go to and just use the space bar as the enter button and Shitf+tab if you went a step too far infront to go one step behind.

You could use a terminal-based mail client like mutt, but that only works if you use IMAP or POP to get your mail, not webmail. I suppose you coule use links for webmail, if there are any webmail services that work without javascript anymore.
