You cannot have RAID 0 on a single disk, so the OS disk will be a simple disk volume on a single disk.

You do not mention what operating system you are using or whether the computer has a RAID controller. I am going to assume you want to set this up as software raid under XP.

1. Convert the two disks for RAID to Dynamic Disks.

2. Set up a RAID set on the first disk.

3. Add the second disk.

I am including a link for a tutorial. There are a ton of other tutorials online to describe the process.

Good luck!

It takes 2 HD's to run either Raid 0, or Raid 1. You could run Raid 5 with 3 HD's. I'm a fan of Raid 0. It's faster. You might set up a Raid 0 system with a spare HD for backup storage.

You need 2 hard drives for Raid0

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Use the 3rd hard drive as a non raid for storage.
