Will Adding RAM to my Computer Increase my FPS in WoW?

Hello. I stopped playing WoW a while back and I'm thinking about getting back into it. One of the reasons I stopped playing before was because of my low FPS. I can't afford a new computer at the moment so I thought adding RAM would be my best bet. If I remember correctly my computer used to run about 15-30 FPS on the lowest settings. When I was in a very populated area like Dalaran my FPS went down to about 5-8.

Here's just some information on my computer (Laptop)
Model: HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor Tk-57 1.90 GHz
Memory (RAM): 1983 MB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

I went to www.Crucial.com and ran a scan on my computer and they gave me some results. I currently have 2 slots full each with 1 GB of RAM. I can remove them and add two 2 GB Slot cards giving me 4 total GB's instead of just two.

Would this increase my FPS by a decent amount? So far my computer has been restricting me of doing some of the more fun aspects of the game and it really sucks. I am hoping by doing this that I can finally enjoy the whole game without restrictions because of my FPS. I just do not want to buy the RAM for it to only raise my FPS a little bit and be out $85.

If it is running at 30 fps, it should look smooth, the human eye can not tell the difference past 24 fps. Also, even though crysis is 3 years old, it still has better graphics than 99% of the games on the market, so that doesn't really mean much. But back to your question, no adding more ram wouldn't really do much. Wow is more cpu intensive so upgrading your processor would be the best thing to do.

Your processor meets requirement and your ram does too

You probably have intel integrated graphics

It will not do well on WoW because of the graphics adapter

The following link is to a chart the shows how well Laptop Graphics cards do on Games

After it finishes loading, scroll to the top right till you see WoW and check the box

Then scroll back to the top left and click on Restrict

The chart will reload showing only WoW and the graphics cards

You will see that intel is way down at the bottom of the green area (green means playable)

The server is in the UK so it takes a while for the chart to load

You won't get much inprovement if at all for buying more ram - save the money

Check the chart for a Mobile GPU to have in your next laptop

Ive got a real good ******* idea. Dont waste money. dont be a nerd. dont play WoW. and anyways, if you knew anything about computers, you would realize that a 32-bit operating system can only recognize 3.5GB of RAM. the other would be wasted.

its your processor, i recommended at least a 2.5 Ghz processor. and you'll be good. ( i can run crysis on high with that much ram! lol)
