Question:
Which USB audio interface should I buy?

I have windows 7 64 bit. It's a fast machine.
Here's the ones I've looked at
Tascam
M-Audio
Line 6

All make USB audio interfaces in the $100-$300 range, and I've read good and bad reviews on all of the them.
Purpose:
Record vocals, guitar, bass, drum (drum machine) tracks.
Please someone with some know how give me some advice. Thank you :)

hi sam

allthough most would be quick to recommend a usb 3.0 compliant interface card this isnt any good if you dont have usb devices that also support this..... however on the other hand usb3.0 interface cards are backwards compatible so they will happily run at usb2.0 speed (480mbps) ... so with that in mind i recommend the "Sharkoon 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI-Express Card"( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CC-000-SH&groupid=701&catid=49&subcat=423 ) ... this is a excellent usb 3.0 controller card thats pretty inexpensive and should ne fine for your needs

however you should also check out the "Belkin 3-Port USB 2.0 & 3-Port Firewire PCI Card"( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CC-007-BE&groupid=701&catid=49&subcat=423 ) and the "Asus U3S6 USB3.0 & SATA 6Gbps PCI-Express Controller Card"( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CC-000-AS&groupid=701&catid=49&subcat=423 ) .... both of these are impressive usb controller cards and again will be ideal for you

hope this helps ....

I use a Behringer XENYX X1832USB USB Mixer with Effects. Works great and is easy to use. The good thing is it has 48v phantom power which you need for condenser mics.
