TROUBLE WITH USB DEVICE - PLEASE HELP ME !!!! ?

Question

when i plug my usb device into my computer for my sony ericson w910i a little pop up comes to the bottem of the screen saying usb device not recognised - one of the USB devices attatched to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognise it.

ive never had any problems like this before, it just happend all of a sudden.


anyone know how to fix this , or what is wrong ?
ive lost the disc that came with my phone the driver software disc , is there anywhere i can download this - free ?
cos ive searched google for the disc and nothing that comes up looks any decent

Try installing Update Service see if it fixes it.

Another thing to try is to go to Device Manager

Click the + in front of Universal Serial Bus Controller

Right click on the Root Hubs and scan for hardware changes

I have an ericson phone and simply searched google for drivers and some half a billion results came up, so try it.



Anyway, what happens when you actually *click on the message* ??

This should work go to Sony Erricson web site go to download section look for your phone download drivers

Download and install the PC Suite, then it will run, and plug in your phone when it tells you to,

You should have got a cd with the phone the cd has the drivers and software on it. the drivers are proprietary so Xp etc doesn't have them.
