I have a 2 GB USB Drive. I loaded a Portable Suite of applications, from PortableApps.com. The USB worked for a couple of days. After that the computer does recognise the drive, as I can see it if I go to MyComputer ( Windows XP ) , but the Windows Explorer does not show any of the files. Is there a way to Format a USB Drive ?

Read the directions that came with the pen drive. I don't think I have ever had to format one before I used it. Sounds like a bad drive to me. You should be able to format it with fat32 through the my computer area as well as the manage drives area of your computer. Some secure drives have their own software for formatting though since the use specialized compression software. Technically speaking. You don't format pen drives per say. They are flash memory modules and not physical drives. But the computer does seem them as if they were physical drives. Usually all you ever have to do is erase files off of them. It really sounds as if you have a faulty pen drive. Take it back and get a replacement.

Go to My Computer > Right Click The Flash Drive > And Either Go into properties and there will be a format > or it will be in the right click menu
