homestead windows XP might have the USB 2.0 motive force, yet do you have USB 2.0 hardware? in case you have an older laptop (5+ years, possibly much less) there is an risk your motherboard would not have 2.0 ports, yet has USB a million.0 ports. additionally, I honestly have seen that often on own laptop computers, the ports interior the front are no longer as quickly or intense powered because of the fact those on the back of your laptop.

It is really cheap... if you dont want to buy this... open device manager and see if anything this related to USB is disabled...

If this dosent resolve your problem go to your BIOS settings and see if USB is disabled or not

Check your Device Manager. If there is any yellow in the USB section, then you need to reinstall either the USB or the Chip Set driver.

Right-click properties on "My Computer"

Click on Hardware tab.

Click on Device Manager.

Re-install the chipset driver foro your computer.

Uninstall all the USB devices.

Make sure that Windows XP does not load the USB generic drivers.

You can verify this by right-click propeerties on each USB device you see and look at the "Driver Details" tab. You should see, for example, the Intel driver instead of Microsoft.
