Question:
how can i lower my mouse wheel's sensitivity?

im using a wireless windows optical mouse 5000 (intellimouse explorer 2.0) on vista and ive run into a problem. the mouse wheel doesnt click when you scroll it, its just a smooth rotation. so when im playing my games(primarily first person shooters), ill go to use the wheel to cycle through weapons, but the wheel is just so sensitive that it just blazes right past everything, and makes it impossible to choose what i want precisely. i guess what im asking is does anyone know how i can make the wheel be less precise as to when im scrolling with it? i havent found anything useful in the mouse settings.

Download the latest drivers.

With the mouse wheel, it's very hard to configure that. With my mouse, you can hear a small sound when you wheel scroll. I'm assuming with yours you can't hear it.

start>settings>control panel>mouse. maybe the mouse software is more precise.

well if there is no click get a mouse that has clicks.
