I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025. Recently I've been having some major problems with it. About a week ago it started freezing upon start up and I could only boot it in safe mode. I thought it might be a virus or something so I completely restored it. It is now running Windows 7 rebooted but it has no sound and the USB ports do not work at all. Also, the webcam does not work and microphone and headphone jacks also do not work. When I plug something in it does not get recognized at all, no bubble on the desktop or nothing. I think it is probably the motherboard. I've seriously tried EVERYTHING! I've tried installing USB drivers. I tried loading defaults. I restored the computer multiple times. I looked on the Toshiba website and tried installing drivers. I even tried to open the computer up and replug some of the cables from the motherboard in and out. Nothing has worked. The USB controller does not show up at all in device manager and some driver software that I ran on the laptop shows that there is no audio device recognized and no USB ports/drivers recognized. If someone knows how to do this please help me out. I have been reading forums online for the last two weeks. If I have to replace the motherboard it would cost me almost as much as the laptop so I'd rather not do that. I remember reading that there might be a way to physically power up the "dead" USB ports by adding voltage or something?? Is this true I really don't want to mess my computer up. Help would be greatly appreciated. I am a student and it would be nice to have this working by finals.

that's probable a driving force situation bud. That unknown gadget desires a driving force put in. additionally, does your audio paintings? may well be a USB audio situation, which might impact something you plug into the three.5mm headphone jack on the pc.
