Reseat the video card, you may also want to make sure it isn't dusty and clean it with a can of compressed air. See if windows will recognize it then

Here's your ideas,

If system has onboard, verify it isn't in the way via BIOS

Install in order if you haven't already, 1)chipset, sound, LAN, etc...

Take card out, turn system on an pretend your cleaning up, software, delete folders and so on.

Then type this in command prompt

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 then enter.

then type, devmgmt.msc and a window should pop up.

Maximize window and click view tab to select show hidden devices.

Now what your going to do is open each + on the tree and uninstall any devices that aren't present, the faded icons are the ones you want to uninstall, and you can do that by right-clicking on the device, and selecting uninstall. One thing to keep in mind though is if your not sure whether to uninstall, leave it. Like ones that say Microsoft etc. Just be familiar with and uninstall devices that you don't need because they are still in the registry. Anyway, it's just a minor clean up. If you can try the card in another system. Make sure you will be presenting it to your system in a way like surprise. Perform other tasks resulting in several system restarts w/o the card. Well that's a portion of the troubleshooting bit. and one last thing, make sure the card is seated properly. Hope you fix it.

Your card is probably an integrated card. It should run fine as the minimal requirement is a x3x00. Although you might want to buy a separate video card if you're planning to do some heavy 3d gaming.

first run Add a hard ware wizard

if it recognizes then find out the driver from the disc and install..

If its not recognizing then turn off pc and please remove the card and place it back and try to switch on and install

I feel it will work for sure.

go into BIOS, make sure that display adapter setting is set to "PCI/PCI express" or something like that. then it should recognize the card. if it doesn't, make sure the card is seated properly and the power cables (if needed) are connected to the card.

also, goto device manager and check what it shows under "display adapter" your graphics card name should be there. to open device manager under xp: right click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager.

I believe that you have to enable your intergrated video in the Device Manager, then you must disable your onboard video in the Device Manager.
