i have an ATI Radeon A9250, 128MB AGP graphics card. pc spects 2.66 celeron, 768Mb ram, windows xp. Everytime i am playing either need for speed most wanted, or need for speed carbon it keeps on freezing then after some seconds it goes back to normal, then all of a sudden it freezes for some seconds after that i start hearing game sounds and the monitor goes blank.
when i terminate it, it restarts the computer(it does this everytime).
what could be the problem and how do i solve it.
Thank u in advance for ur contributions.

I would recommend a pc with:

-Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor.

-1GB RAM (XP) 1.5 GB or above RAM (VISTA).

-Nvidia GeForce 8.

-160 GB Hard Drive.

Scan your pc for any security threats.

people are kind of right in what they say however your pc is above the minimum specs for the games i would suggest closing every other unneeded running program to free the resources and download the latest patches for the games from ea games they fix bugs like that i had a problem similar to that and my pc is way over the specs needed to run games like that

Update u'r VGA driver

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeon-prer300-xp.html

Install a recent DirectX 9C (nov2007) version

Also seek for corrective patch like this one

1)Try to lower your settings

2)Update your drivers

3)Maybe its overheating(check the wents and clean it)

There is lots of reason behind your computer freezes on games.

-Graphics memory (CMOS graphics memory???)

-Virtual memory (greater than 350MB???)

-Shared/other memory (Free Disk Space???)

Beside these your main board should compatible for the games and you can make the compatible game mood for your pc.

rt click on shortcut of games icon>properties

click on compatibility and change the option like : compatibility and display modes.
