USB RS232 SERIAL ADAPTOR?

Hi I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 I am trying to install a driver for (USB RS232 SERIAL ADAPTOR) I just after all reading and googling and reading people problem on internet didn't find away to solve my problem , i searched every possible engin, i did everything but no chance here is what happend.

Hi I was wondering if you could helpme , i bought one usb serial adptor from ebay i followed your video, also i googled and read many tutorial but that one i bought from ebay after insall and everything message came up with says, One of usb device attached to this computer has malfunctions and windows does not recognise it , for assitance solving this problem check this message it is usb rs232 adapter with no mark on. and second one i bought from shop after installation message pop up and said , Aproblemoccured during hardware instalation, your new hardwar may not work properly. it is usb rs232 adaptor from newlink , is there anyway to solve my problem

those adapters only work for about 1/2 the devices in my experience, you will need to check the the manufacturer of the serial device you are trying to connect for support and or drivers to make it work over USB

The problem is the questionable hardware you probably got from ebay - the cheap USB to Serial adapters don't use the best chipsets (Prolific or FTDI are both good).



I would give Sewell a try - they will give you free tech support and let you return it if it won't work. The problem with getting really cheap stuff is it just doesn't usually work (and if it does it doesn't work for long).
