i lost my freind's USB and he was pretty mad, he told me that there's something up with his computer that it needs the USB and without it he needs to buy a new computer cause it will not function properly without the USB, so is it possible that a computer can be damaged without a USB, cause a USB is only used for storing information, thx :)

His story, I think, is Bulls**t... There is no USB device that makes a computer un-usable.

That said, some high tech/security firms use USB sticks to enable encryption and security as a "key" to the laptop, but if your friend even have one of those machines, he'd get fired for just lending out the laptop in the first place. I doubt that is his case...

Find out why the USB is "critical". Without a proper reason, he's just trying to make up some excuse to blame you to get a new laptop.... A new computer won't come with that "missing USB" device anyway, so old laptop without USB device will work just as well as a new laptop without USB device.

A USB is not only for storing information, but your friend is telling you crap, a computer doesn't need a USB to function otherwise it would be built in, tell him he's a ******* retard.
