Question:
Should I use a VGA or a converter to hook my hd tv with my computer?

I recently bought a 1080p TV that has a slot for vga in the back. In the back of my computer it has two dvi outputs on my video card. I am currently using a dvi-hdmi cord (one end has a dvi input and the other side has a hdmi input) to hook the dvi to my graphic's card and the hdmi to my tv. It is working amazing, as i am currently using it, however I have a problem because I am not receiving audio from my computer to my tv.
On the back of my tv there is a section where there is a vga slot and an audio in slot. I want to get a 3.5mm Auxiliary Cable to connect from my computer to the audio slot in the back of the tv. However, I am having trouble with the vga slot. I was wondering if I should get a dvi-vga cord (one end has a dvi and the other has a vga) or should I get a small converter that has vga (that I can hook onto the tv) and the other side of the converter has a dvi input (so I can put the end of the dvi to it). Would this way loose any resolution produced on my graphics card (as currently I am running 1080 from my computer to my tv)?

I wouldn't bother converting VGA to DVI - you can use that audio jack with HDMI, trust me, that's what I do. All you need is a cheap audio cable that you plug into that audio jack by the VGA port and the other end plugs into the audio output on the computer..

Since you're already happy with the DVI->HDMI you should just stick with that. It's an all-digital connection with no signal loss.

DVI and HDMI are digital signals. Downgrading to an analog VGA you may lose some picture quality. You can still run at 1080p resolution over a VGA cable though.

Pls understand that you wouldn't be able to get clear images for PC stuffs other than Movies on your LCD TV / HDTV / CRT-TV. Unless you TV come with a monitor input ( 25 pins ) socket for PC output. if you TV have that ,just get a split cable for your TV and monitor.
