Hi experts,

I need help regarding windows device drivers

I am working as Hardware technician in Goa. I repair, Upgrade troubleshoot Desktops and Laptops with OS installation (XP, Vista, Se7en), Many a time I have to waste my precious time on just searching for matching device drivers, either I have to search for different CD’s or I have to search internet for the same, I just want to know whether there is any all in one drivers CD or DVD or any Archive from where I can install required drivers for my clients. If there is something like this please share links with me so that I can download.

Thanks in advance for all your valuable feedback.

well such a thing can not exist as every day new hardwares are released so naturally those drivers wont be available.

The same thing applies to me also but then we get paid for that..right.

All in one drivers cd/dvd you have to make yourself as it is not going to be available by any vendor.

There Linux is far better...everything comes built-in with the OS....detection configuration and installation..you just have to update.

While an archive containing all the drivers are not possible since newer hardwares are being produced everyday & each OS has its own set of drivers.

I suggest you two things:-

1. Keep a copy of all types of CD's which come with the motherboards you sell since it contains most of the PC drivers.

2. You could use a software which does the job of backing up & reinstalling the drivers after you reinstall the OS. Also use a software which can search online for the drivers. "DRIVERMAX" is an excellent solution for both jobs. It is a freeware. Get it at http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/

i have the same problem,

if u r serious about this problem its better to get driver backup for each model u work on.

but mostly windows seven will take care of these problem by its on, but it also misses some drivers.

most laptop manufactures put their device driver on their websites. vista and seven for most of the devises uses almost the same drivers. but if a laptop comes with vista from manufacture its hard to find the drivers for XP.

I feel your pain. I have to do the same thing everytime I'm working on a computer...

1. Dell and HP..you'll find service tag on all the laptops or towers..just go to the websites and put in the service tag numbers..it'll automatic give you the list for all the drivers to download for that computer.

2. Custom build..I usually save all the drivers in a folder on that computer for future reference.

hope this help..

Driver Guide has been the source for hard to find drivers for years. You might give them a try.

Good Luck
