I have 6gb of ram, and I want to install windows xp on m y computer when my new video card comes in the mail tomorrow. Will "Windows XP Professional 64-bit" support 6gb of ram? Currently I am on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit... Hate it. I want XP back! :'(
I will try vista again in a few years while 99.9% of applications are not compatible.

Honestly, why do you have 6GB of ram if you don't already know the answer to that question??
64bit is required to run 4GB or more of ram. It doesn't matter if it's XP or Vista, as long as it's 64bit

It will support up to 32 gigs if your motherboard does as well. Your pc is only as fast as it's weakest link, just like a chain. Most people dont need over 4 gigs. I went from 2 gigs to 4 and hardly noticed any difference.

Simple answerer is YES. If you not on DDR3 then, it might be a problem. I might be wrong, I personally have not come across any 3GB DDRs (excluding DDR3) on the market and any Boards that has 3 channels DDR2 slots so can have 2GB on each slot.
Anyway, xp will recognizes it but may not operate in DUAL CHANNEL INTERLEAVED (the fastest available mode).
