I recently bought a refurbished Acer SA80 and since have not been able to play minecraft, every time i tried it black screened, closed and created a Java Runtime Error file. I re-installed java and minecraft and updated my drivers. After looking around the web for a while I saw that it might be because my graphics card (an sis 661fx/gx mirage graphics) isn't capable of running minecraft. Is this the case? If so do i need a new graphics card and what should i get if i do?

You can try to and get a new GFX card. but it could be you are running Java 64-bit on a 32-bit system or Vice Versa

If they have stated that your gpu is not compatible then it is not compatible. It does sound like the gpu is the issue here. Have you tried any other games?
