The max power for my computer is 250W and i want to install a Graphics card (making it about 474W)?

Question

I checked on the inside of my computer on the power source and it says a maximum of 250W. Then i check with this calculator thing were i input what i hav in my computer and it came up as a usage of a minimum 253W (this is before changing the computer at all). I want to install a GeForce 8800 GTX into my computer and the calculator says if i add it my minimum usage will be around 474W. Iv asked some people and theyve said this shouldnt REALLY be a problem. they said it would just not run at the highest performance possible. Also i talked to an HP expert about upgrading my power source and he said id need to completely change my computer around because the model i hav doesnt have enough room for a bigger power source.

GET A MIN. OF 650 WATT POWER SUPPLY AND MOUNT IT OUT SIDE OF THE TOWER AND RUN THE WIRING INSIDE , THIS WILL GIVE YOU OVER 10% CUSHION AND WON'T OVER HEAT , OR SLOW YOU DOWN--------HAPPY GAMING

You can't make an old clunker into a hot rod by simply upgrading graphics. And, the power supply isn't even the problem.



The bottom line here is 250 Watt power supplies haven't been used in any PC for years. That tells me your PC is very old and will NOT even run a modern Graphics card.



The real issue is your old PC doesn't support modern graphics cards because the motherboard's AGP slot voltage is wrong. So, save your money and buy a new system with sufficient hardware to play high-end video games.

As Vista is a sixty 4 bit processor gadget. in case you do not have the right video drivers for this card you will cut back to rubble the gadget. abode windows and the computing gadget makers have worked out dissimilar the utility gadget faults, yet once you have in basic terms worked on older stuff, stay away

measure the PSU and find a larger capacity PSU that will fit in your computer, It a waste of time for you to add that GFX card if you can't power it. And it may not work properly.

no u have to get a new power supply the hardware wont work or ur computer might not even turn on
