I downloaded a new kaspersky internet security 2011 and when I reboot the computer my mouse stopped working on my dell inspiron 1545 laptop. I checked by the control panel and the driver is corrupted, I'm trying to update it but without the mouse I cannot click on the alert button to update the it. I try all the button but nothing seem to direct me to the button that I need to press. Is there other way to update the mouse driver without using the mouse?

There are keyboard strokes that work. The windows key opens the start menu, the arrow keys move the focus so move to the control panel and hit enter. Use the tab key to get the focus over on to one of the icons then use the arrow keys to get to mouse then hit enter. Now use the tab key again to highlight the tab or button you want and continue from there.

Here are a few links that should help you to use your keyboard for mouse function to allow you to navigate to download your mouse driver. Good Luck!

Step1: Uninstall CRAPspersky

Step2: Install Microsoft Security Essentials (its better, its free, and hell its from microsoft)

if you can't click stuff use keyboard shortcuts (or try booting into safemode to see if its something messing around with the mouse drivers, to do this restart and hit F8)
